ITS TIME TO MIND YOUR BUSINESS (part 2)
The Direct & Indirect Entrepreneur
Whether you were born to be an entrepreneur or not here is some advice - develop yourself in what interests you.
The Direct Entrepreneur
For example, you love to teach. Great! Have you done any teaching in the last 12 months? Start with your kids, your neighbour's kids, kids in church or your local association. Then move on to organizing summer school through a collaboration with your church or local association. The number of times you can successful duplicate this process will increase your expertise & determine how quickly you will grow.
The Indirect Entrepreneur
As an employee, if you continue to develop yourself in your field of interest, you grow to become an expert & as your earnings improve you can invest in an entrepreneur. In this way, you become co-founder, co-owner or partner just like that!
These are the two experts -
i) The direct Entrepreneur - a risk taker
ii) The indirect Entrepreneur - who down plays his risk by investing in an entrepreneur.
I have tried my hands on a couple of successful business ventures & now I'm consolidating on my interests & field - financial management + advisory. Even with a current 'small' client base, I know it will eventually pay off as I continue to develop myself in this area.
You have every reason to succeed because life is not about who gets there first, because you WILL get there!
So fill up your mind 'tank' with loads of enthusiasm & determination & lets go!
Till next time

THANKSGIVING, C.S.R AND P.S.R
In my last article, I encouraged you to do something for an existing or potential prospect. Today, I want to talk about giving as a form of thanksgiving.
When businesses, corporations give, it is called Corporate Social Responsibility (C.S.R). When individuals give, it is called Personal Social Responsibility (P.S.R). Being responsible as a business or an individual is also thanksgiving.
As Americans celebrate thanksgiving (4th Thursday in November), they remind us that we have something to be thankful for. Look back over the past months and tell me just one thing you are thankful for (please… do add it as a comment).
So in the spirit of thanksgiving, do something for someone during the holiday period.
In my next article, I will be sharing one of the many ways you can give thanks as a business (CSR) or as an individual (PSR).
Till next time,
Remember – information remains the new currency.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
P.S – don’t forget to comment on what you are thankful for!

OPPORTUNITIES ABOUND EVERY WHERE!
I came out of the doctor’s office laughing. This was my third visit and all my visits were ‘food- related’ as Dr. Larry had pointed out.
My first visit was a few months ago. While frying some chicken, a splash of hot oil from the pan landed on my exposed chest. The injury was minor and took about two weeks to heal.
The second visit to the doctor was two months ago. The vegetable salad I got from a popular eatery was unknowingly contaminated and so resulted in food poisoning.
And now the third visit – my index finger burn from frying ripe plantain.
Now the above has created an opportunity for me to either make or market existing ointments that heal burns in just a few days! What a wonderful business opportunity!
Most times, you do not explore available opportunities not because they are not there, but because of the fear or laziness of starting out on your own. If I can get past my inhibition about blogging, you too can! So do something today. Even if it’s just for the fun of it – do it!
